The Citarum River in West Java, Indonesia is Indonesia's most polluted river and one of the top most polluted river in the world. The river is the main source of water for the villages that are situated near the river, as well as the lush greenery around it.

However, it is home to many textile factories. Big brand companies like Gap, Adidas and Brooks Brothers have been reported having ties with the textile factories at the river. The factories were dumping their chemical waste into the river.

Despite the Indonesian government's effort to clean up the river, the river still remains very polluted. It is filled with trash, as well as being blue due to the synthetic dyes.
